The German Archaeological Institute of Rome is organising an introductory course into research in some of the main Photo Archives held here in Rome from March 14th 2010 to March 20th 2010 inclusive. The course is for German, Italian or English speaking students of Archaeology, Prehistory, History of Architecture, Art History and Humanities, who are in their later years of study. The course will also be suitable for Masters and Doctoral students and younger academics and researchers in the same disciplines.
The purpose of the course is to offer its participants an overview of the photographic collections held in the Roman Archives.. The course will also highlight best practices in the use of the collections and includes practical training exercises into research of the documents.
Please note that the German Archaeological Institute is not a vocational training institution and that the organization of the present course has no commercial purpose whatsoever.
