Reflections of cross-cultural contacts in the Roman and Late Antique World

The Roman and Late Antique economy was centered on the Mediterranean but extended through trade and cultural exchange across Europe and beyond. Scholars working on ceramic circulation, pottery trade, and economic networks within and beyond the Mediterranean are encouraged to present their latest research and ideas at the 2026 conference in Madrid.

The 34th Congress of the Rei Cretariae Romanae Fautores is organized by Horacio González Cesteros, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and Alejandro Quevedo, Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in collaboration with the German Archaeological Institute in Madrid (DAI Madrid) and the National Archaeological Museum (MAN).
