Research Assistant and PhD Candidate | Archaeobotany, Egyptology, Urban Contexts
With a background in Egyptology and archaeobotany, my research explores how plants intersect with human life in ancient urban settings. In my PhD project Flora urbis, I examine the role of plants in shaping architecture, daily practices, and ritual life in the long-lived city of Elephantine. Combining archaeobotanical, archaeological, and historical data, I investigate how vegetation contributed to urban infrastructures and embodied material agency within changing social dynamics.
