Short-term grants for international guest scientists at the DAI headquarters and departments in Germany and abroad
The DAI supports studies of German and international archeologists and scientists of related disciplines through fellowships at the DAI headquarters in Berlin; at our international departments in Athens, Cairo, Istanbul, and Rome; and in our institute commissions in Frankfurt/Main, Bonn, and Munich.
The fellowships have a duration of up to two months. Their aim is to support the researchers' studies, promote the academic exchange with local scientists, and deepen relations with the guest institutions. The guest fellowships are awarded by the DAI president. In host countries of DAI international departments the invitation to the fellowship is issued upon recommendation by the department directors. Fellows must hold a university degree in archeology or a related academic discipline within the scope of DAI.
The DAI will cover the guest fellows' travel expenses, provide accommodation in DAI rooms, and offer free access to the institute's research facilities. In addition, the fellowship includes a daily grant for living expenses.
