The DAI awards the Wülfing fellowship based on the foundation our honorary member John Max Wülfing (Saint Louis) established in 1928. The Wülfing fellowship supports young archeologists and scientists from related disciplines during their eight-months stay in the "classical" countries, Egypt, and Near East as they expand their general knowledge of the region. The fellowship can also be divided between several applicants. Applicants need to have completed their PhD degree at a German university.
The call for applications is typically issued in fall. Application deadline usually is January 15 of the following year.
