The international Jacobi Scholarship enables doctoral candidates in Ancient History and closely related subjects to spend three months at the Commission for Ancient History and Epigraphy. The Jacobi Programme was established in 2005, thanks to a bequest from Annemarie Jacobi, and has since been largely funded by the Elise and Annemarie Jacobi Foundation and the Gerda Henkel Foundation. In accordance with Annemarie Jacobi's wishes, it has supported more than 100 doctoral students from all over the world in writing their dissertations or preparing them for publication. The fellowship is awarded four times a year, six months in advance. It includes free accommodation in a flat near the Commission, travel expenses to and from the Commission and a monthly living allowance. During their stay, fellows will have access to the library and to all internal and public events organised by the Commission. They will also benefit from academic exchanges with Commission staff and other research guests.
