from Berlin to DAI locations around the world
Certain departments based at the DAI's head office in Berlin also make their expertise available to the Institute's sites around the world. For example, IT, editorial and library services, communications, research data management, building research and cultural heritage conservation, as well as the services of our scientific laboratories, are not fully available at all locations, but are coordinated in part at the head office. In particular, the increasing digitisation of these areas of work has brought them closer together in organisational terms. For this purpose, some of these areas have been brought together in the Central Scientific Services (ZWD), which was created in 2019.
In the administrative area, too, some tasks are carried out at the individual locations, while others are handled by the headquarters in Berlin. In this way, the head office and the DAI locations around the world work together to fulfil their tasks, using synergies and conserving resources.
