Production of arsenical bronze using speiss on the Elephantine Island (Aswan, Egypt)

In cooperation with the DAI and the Institut français d’archéologie orientale - Ifao, research by Martin Odler (Newcastle University) and Jiří Kmošek (Academy of Fine Arts Vienna & Czech Academy of Sciences, Řež) on Elephantine Island near Aswan has revealed the first direct evidence of arsenical bronze production using speiss during the Middle Kingdom — offering a fascinating glimpse into ancient Egyptian metallurgy!
