Project Launch of EU-Horizon Project UNICHE

A new Horizon Europe project developing AI-assisted, no-code digital tools that empower professionals to create interactive and engaging digital heritage experiences! The project is run by a consortium of 12 partners from across Europe, including research centres, cultural heritage organizations and companies, and will contribute towards the creation of the European Cultural Heritage Cloud (https://www.echoes-eccch.eu/community/).

As part of work package (WP8), our task is to contribute primary scholarly content for testing these tools on open-air archaeological sites, drawing upon the excavation of the sanctuary of Kalapodi, a major focus of fieldwork by the DAI Athens since 1973. Over the course of the project, we will create new immersive reconstructions of the temples and sanctuary area, develop digital displays of excavation finds, and produce storytelling elements that will help visitors grasp the temporal depth, rich history, and cultural significance of this – truly unique – Greek sanctuary.
