We cordially invite you to the upcoming workshop “Ancient Maritime Trade between North Africa and the Iberian Peninsula”, featuring the keynote “The Performance and Efficiency of Roman Ships” by Prof. Dr. Christoph Schäfer from University Trier.

Organised by Dr. Max Fiederling (Transmare Institute, University of Trier) and Dr. Paul Scheding DAI Madrid), the workshop will take place on 20–21 November 2025 at the DAI Madrid.

It will bring together researchers to explore recent projects and new opportunities in reconstructing ancient maritime trade.

The workshop will take place exclusively in person at DAI Madrid.

Wir laden Sie herzlich zum Workshop „Antiker Seehandel zwischen Nordafrika und der Iberischen Halbinsel“ ein. Im Rahmen der Veranstaltung wird Prof. Dr. Christoph Schäfer (Universität Trier) den Hauptvortrag mit dem Titel „The Performance and Efficiency of Roman Ships“ halten.

Organisiert wird der Workshop von Dr. Max Fiederling (Transmare-Institut, Universität Trier) und PD Dr. Paul Scheding (DAI Madrid).
